Dues update
Most dues are in. John Judnich is still planning to pay for his own. We are still missing dues from Kent County.

Directors Meeting
Charlie Ziesemer is attempting to start a statewide Directors Committee with a representative from each region. The purpose of the committee is to get Directors more involved in MRPA.
The concept has been well received by our local Directors.
IV. Director at large:
Ad cost for Parks and Rec. Month
It looks as if the cost to put a one-time, full circulation ad in the Advance to promote Parks & Recreation Month during July will cost between $500 and $600. We will move forward with the plan to run such an ad.

2009 Conference
For those of you who plan on attending conference next year, please strongly consider making an A/V donation, especially if you have a projector.
Discussion was held on whether or not we would be interested in hosting a booth at the 2009 conference as a possible fundraiser. It was decided that it would be best to only have a booth when conference is in Grand Rapids, as we will have more WMRPA representation to help man the booth.

WMRPA Committee’s discussion and the role of our membership
Discussion was held on how and who we should reach out to and encourage more participation in WMRPA. Clay will reach out to those departments that are members but do not regularly participate and set-up a time to meet with them personally. There is also an opportunity to meet with representatives from area Community Education departments.
WMRPA Committee Reports
I. Athletic Committee:
At this time, there really isn’t an Athletic Committee. If this is something that WMRPA believes we should continue, we will need to look at different ways to revive it.
II. Therapeutic Committee:
Opening and Closing speakers have been confirmed for the upcoming TRI. They are looking for any donations that can be used as small giveaways and A/V Donations (specifically LCD projectors). If you can help in anyway, please contact Val Romeo or Kristine Kading.
III. Golf Committee:
The WMRPA Golf Outing will be held at Gleneagle Golf Club this year. Registration forms can be found at HYPERLINK "http://www.wmrpa.org/golf.htm" www.wmrpa.org/golf.htm. Don’t wait to register.
IV. MRPA Committee Reports:
Programming Updates
The Blue Cross Walk Michigan Kickoff was held on the State Capital Lawn on May 22. There are 61 programs throughout the state, compared to 35 last year.
Currently recruiting volunteers for the Hershey Track & Field State Meet this summer.
MRPA Staff Updates
The Executive Director’s position has been offered to and accepted by Dennis Schnornack. His official first day was Monday, May 26. Dennis’ qualifications far exceeds the expectations the search committee had going into the hiring process.
Nola McNeil’s last day at MRPA was Friday, May 16.
Bob Robinson’s last day at MRPA will be Friday, June 25.
